Antonia Lofaso
Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore what lies within her. Her interest in food when she moved from suburban Long Island to the diverse cultural landscape in Los Angeles. Cavatellis and carnitas mingling in the same dish is her ideology. Each of her dishes is inspired by a distinct vision for the future, as well as reminiscing on the past. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in the year 2013. It was founded by the chef due to her heritage as an Italian-American. The restaurant's version of old-school Italian has been called the one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian eateries. Patrons have described Scopa as an indispensable neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always serves food that is inviting genuine and incredibly satisfying. Lofaso was a student of legendary chefs and absorbed their sophisticated techniques however she wasn't afraid to take extraordinary risks to be true to her own instincts. As she rose through the ranks She transformed a variety of Los Angeles high-profile restaurants while cooperating with famous stars. Lofaso collaborated with Sal Aurora to create Black Market Liquor Bar, a new bar within Studio City. In Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found her home. The collaboration could provide the creative freedom Lofaso desired. Black Market doesn't have one particular direction. This is the intention. The first course could be chip dill, followed by shishitos peppers. Next comes a Korean wings and then the meatballs course. Antonia, the chef who created this delicious menu full of strong flavors, is the anchor of the whole. Throughout her career Lofaso has measured her achievements through her ability to connect with her viewers but still remain true to her own personality. She's been on of a variety of television shows such as Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars and Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents have continued to be showcased as a judge for the CNBC's Restaurant Startup. In 2012 Lofaso collaborated with Penguin for the release of The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Quick Delicious Home-cooked Meals and tells the story of the challenges she overcame when she was studying at the world-class French Culinary Institute, and simultaneously raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso believes that all her success is due to her passion of cooking and she is in a position to stay on the pulse of this industry by focusing on the kitchen.
