LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James is widely regarded as one of basketball's greatest players. He is often in comparison to Michael Jordan when discussing the most well-known player. James has won four NBA championships and four NBA MVP awards four NBA Finals MVP awards three All-Star MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. James is second in highest number of career goals, and the seventh most assists. He has been selected as an NBA All Star 18 times. James is a member of 18 NBA All-Stars, 18 All-NBA Teams and five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. The third-highest number in NBA Finals ever was ten which included eight consecutive games between 2011-2018. James was picked to be a member of the 75th Anniversary Team. And in 2022, he became the first NBA player ever to score at least 10,000 points in a career. James played at St. Vincent St. Mary High school in Akron, Ohio. He was hailed by national media as the next NBA superstar. A prep-to-pro, he was selected for the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall selection in the 2003 NBA draft. In 2004, he was named NBA Rookie. He soon was one of the league's best athletes, winning the NBA MVP title in both 2009 and 2010. James was a free agency in 2010, after he failed to earn championships in Cleveland. The decision to leave Cleveland in order to join Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered as one of the most controversial free-agent decisions in the history of sports.
